A quick card

I was in Joanne's today and saw these stickers and was motivated to make a very quick card to send to my son at basic training. It was inspired by my sweet wonderful sister-in-law. Hee Hee!!

We are moving

Went by the new place today to get some measurements and check out a few things. When we first saw the house we thought the fence had a problem. Turns out that we have an even bigger yard! This whole side yard is through that little space. I was joking with Sean and suggested that we make it into a doggie play yard. Now I am thinking that is a great idea! We could put out some ramps and hurdles and toys. Fun Fun! This is the back deck and some of the yard. How cool is this deck! It is big enough to put a table and chairs, grill, and more! And has built in benches.
I love the flooring. And they were not afraid of color. This is the kitchen, dining room, and bar.

First Retreat all by myself

I went on my first weekend retreat without my family this last weekend. I was able to find a free spot at the Covered Bridge Inn in Weatherford. What a beautiful place!
I was a little bit skittish about going to a retreat with all the other attendees being strangers. I didn't have anything to worry about! All of the ladies were wonderful. My two roomates were a dream to have around. And to top it off I got the Kindergartener award at the end of the weekend for sharing well with others! And boy did I complete alot of projects.

My first 2 page layout uses the Create a Critter frog with Don Juan font and the bows are from Everyday Paper Doll Dress Up. I really like how the bows look on the frogs.

My second 2 page spread uses Opposites Attract and Calligraphy Cartridge. I set up the page, double checked it, really liked out it looked so I glued it down. That is when one of my roomates pointed out my spelling error. Even using the Opposites Attract cartridge I stilled spelled opposite wrong! I decided to leave it.

On this layout I decided to try an accordian fold to add as many pictures as possible. To tell this story I needed lots of photos but I did not want to put it on seven or eight layouts. I really like the accordians. I used hinges to connect where I needed them.

I think this may be my favorite layout of the weekend. I was staring at the photo trying to come up with a caption for it when I noticed the look on my little baby girl chihuahua, Misses, (the blond girl). The caption came to me and it just fell together after that. The font is Simply Sweet and the teddy bear is from Everyday Paper Dolls.

This layout is very simple. I used Life's a Beach for the seahorses and Winter Woodland for the font. You can really tell he's my son in this picture!

On this 2 page spread I used some rub ons for the wording except for the names which were done in Blackletter. The skull is from Wall Decor and More.

On my Fishy Faces layout the fish are from Paper Doll Dress Up and the font is Ashlyn's Alphabet. I really like the idea of the page but I am not sure if I pulled it off.

This is one of the 5 cards that I completed. I will post more later. I found this paper in the origami section. The font is from George and Basic Shapes.

Very quick birthday card

This was a very quick birthday card for a co-worker. Her birthday snuck up on me.

I tried to make the star look like a shooting star. Not sure if I pulled it off.
The inside says "Hope it is everything you wish".

Animal Kingdom

I used Animal Kingdom for the owl and the Whoo and Calligraphy Collection for the "misses you" and the back ground shapes. I am really loving the gel pens.

Cowgirl card

The front of the card uses all cuts from Old West and also Cri-Kits pens.

The inside also uses Paper Doll Dress Up with Old West and the Cri-Kits pens. It is kind of hard to see but I made the little cowgirl into a pop-up.

Having the sentiment on the upper lid will leave me with plenty of room for a short letter to my son.

Just Because Cards, Ducky

This card came from Just Because Cards. The saying was cut at 3.5 inches while the ducky was cut at 8 inches. Very shiny paper just made the card.

French Manor layout

I received my new cartridge from Cricut Circle, French Manor. Love the birdcages cut at 3 inches. The photo mats were cut at 5 inches.

New mother layout

I made this layout for a co-workers baby book. I stole the saying from a baby room decoration.
I recently purchased some gel pens designed to work with the cricut so this gave me the perfect opportunity to use them. I am lovin' them! I used one of the glitter pens and boy does it shine. Using the Calligraphy Cartridge I typed in what I wanted it to say making sure to meld the letters where I could.
I made this layout in less than 15 minutes including choosing the paper and cutting! The hardest part was coloring in some of the words.

Minimal effort card

The hardest part of this card was hand cutting one of the penguins. The paper is SEI Zoo Pals. The flags are from carousel cricut lite and the font is Blackletter

2 new cards today

The dog tag and combat boot are from Stand and Salute. The tree is from Heritage and the apple is from Doodlecharms.

Carousel Cricut Lite

I purchased this cartridge mainly for the font which I love. But there are so many other cuts to love on it also. The tent is just my first.

Can you see the changes?

Last night I finished my cards but they didn't seem "finished". So this morning I did some final touches.
The kitty card shows the changes the most dramatically in the pictures. But the owl card changes are really dramatic in person. The mushroom card changes are subtle but really make a big difference.
